Joe Sukraw: executive director

Joe grew up on a ranch near Maxwell, NE. After graduating high school, he attended and graduated from MidAmerica Nazarene College in Olathe, KS with a double major in Psychology and Sociology. Joe then returned home to the family ranch. He continued to work with his family for one year following his dad’s death from ALS in 1982. In the fall of 1983, Joe began what he thought would be a temporary job with Youth for Christ. Which has ended up lasting 35 years.

Joe has always believed in the value of community involvement. Besides church involvement, he has been involved with the North Platte Fellowship of Ministers, Student Ministries Network, the community forum on drugs and alcohol, the Nebraskaland days family night committee, and numerous other community organizations and events.

He is the proud father of four adult children, grandpa of two and husband of his wife and ministry partner, Susan.

Susan Sukraw: Office Administration and Ministry Associate

Susan is the wife to Joe, mom of 4 grown children, grammy to two boys, and follower of Jesus. She began her married life in 1991 as an LPN, practicing nursing as well as volunteering in youth ministry. With the arrival of children and a deepening sense of God's direction in her life she quit nursing in 1996 to work full-time in ministry.

She has taught preschool, worked with elementary kids in an afterschool program, pioneered a middle-school ministry, shared Jesus with high school students, and mentored young moms & dads in parenting. She has taught Common Sense Parenting and Medical Sexual Health classes. She is also a pastor, loves to read, collect tea pots & cups and lighthouses.
